Why do I love vampires?

Well thank you so much for asking, kind stranger.

Vampires are the best fantasy creature. No other cryptid or movie monster can approach the historic legacy of the vampire or match the raw number of aesthetics that vampires can pull off.

They can be old and gnarled beasts of the night, sparkling teens in Washington state, regal counts in castles of yore, and anything in between.

Plus there are vampires for every mood, every theme, every story.

And the crazy thing is: all of them look cool as heck.

If you’re anything like me, you’d be down for some vampire-themed skins. So let’s explore the best we can find for the world of Minecraft.

1. The Count

When it comes to vampires and vampire skins, every conversation has to start with Dracula.

The notorious story dates back to the 19th century with roots going hundreds years further back, and somehow the tale and character remain so captivating that the count is still around today.

Just one look at this skin and it brings up a thousand images and memories of Dracula, of spooky castles and Halloween costumes.

It just doesn’t get more classic than this.

And some would even say it just doesn’t get much better than this either.

2. The Night Witch

Right off the bat, I need to give this skin as many props as I can because the “Night Witch” is the coolest skin name I’ve heard in a long while.

The sheer awesomeness of that name is backed up by the design on this skin which feels as nostalgic as it gets.

I don’t know where this flowing, almost hippie-ish vampire design originated, but it reminds me of a Scooby-Doo character.

I think that’s about the highest praise I can give a skin.

3. The Regal Look

While Dracula is the original count with high fashion, that doesn’t make him the only vampire who can dress up.

This skin by creator meaaww shows plain as day that anyone can pull off Dracula’s style (and honestly look better while doing it).

This skin could easily be a fun, throwback vampire skin or maybe a vampire Halloween costume for an e-girl.

It’s so versatile, and the design is so good. This one is a crowd pleaser for sure.

4. The Actual Vampire (Vlad The Impaler)

If you’re in the know, then you’re already aware of the person this skin is depicting – but I’ll give you a refresher nonetheless.

Dracula’s bloodthirsty ways and royal background didn’t come out of nowhere.

Dracula took influence from this guy, a 15th century Romanian ruler who is known as Vlad the Impaler.

As you can probably tell by the skin’s design (and his name), Vlad wasn’t the nicest guy.

He had a tendency to impale people he didn’t like, and legends of his bloodthirst have spanned centuries.

Now that’s the type of skin that I’m trying to wear into my next Minecraft game.

5. The Shock

Among the rise of modern aesthetics with its goth influences, it’s no surprise that vampires and their fashion senses have come back into vogue.

I, personally, love it.

I love the trends.

I love the dyed hair.

I love the meshing of timely looks.

Take kauspri’s vampire-inspired look here. A deep crimson (some would say blood red) shirt backdrops this skin with its prominent stark white hair.

I’m all about the meshing of new and old looks, and I can confidently say that this skin pulls that fusion off to a tee.

6. The Draculaura (Monster High)

Speaking of vampires being a blend of modern looks with ancient aesthetics, this skin by creator suhito depicts the Monster High character Draculaura.

Frankly, I don’t have much experience with the show.

It sailed over me while it was airing.

But what didn’t sail over me is the aesthetics in this skin, which I have to describe as incredible.

The Bratz doll vibe works really well for me.

Honestly, a vampire in pink just sounds right to me.

7. Old-School Dracula

I know the first skin on this list was a Dracula.

But that’s a good-looking, human Dracula.

The charming Dracula that you wouldn’t mind letting bite you.

Now this Dracula is getting more into the monstrous neighborhood.

The dramatic widow’s peak and popped collar probably take their inspiration from the old, Universal monster movies.

Regardless of where this cloaked and big-headed visage came from, I’m about to wear it in every server I play in from now until the sun finally takes me.

8. Krul (Seraph of the End)

For those of you familiar with Owari no Seraph, this Krul skin is bound to be exciting in no small part because it looks so good.

For those, like myself, who aren’t familiar – this skin is of a vampiric character by the name of Krul Tepes from a popular manga/anime series.

The vampiric girl is a prominent character in the series, but she’s about to become a prominent skin in my skin rotation.

If the show looks anywhere near as good as this skin by creator cloverpatchh, I think I have to give it a shot.

9. The Mall Goth

This skin is the epitome of vampire/goth aesthetics making a comeback, and I’m glad they did.

The mall goth scene was over the top and outcasted by many when it was in its heyday back in the 90s and 00s.

Now, the revenge of the mall goth is here.

We’ve got dyed hair and over-the-top makeup. Frills and corsets abound.

Let’s all become mall goths of the night and live our best undead lives.

10. Halloween Vampire Costume

Of all the skins on this list, I appreciate this one’s spirit the most.

Sometimes vampires get tired of having to traipse around looking, well, like vampires.

Sometimes, vampires need to let loose, be goofy, and have a little fun.

I don’t know why it tickles me so much that a vampire might dress up in just a monkey mask for Halloween, but it does, and I won’t apologize for it.

11. Marceline The Vampire Queen

If you don’t know who Marceline the Vampire Queen is, have you seen anything related to cartoons over the past 15 years?

Marceline has been an icon from the moment she first appeared on Adventure Time.

And she continues to be an iconic character to this day.

Marceline single-handedly revived the grunge looks from the 90s and ushered us into a new era in time and fashion. That statement probably isn’t factually correct, but do we really care?

12. Alcina Dimitrescu

If you’ve been on the Internet within the last year or so, there’s a good chance you’re familiar with at least a meme or two about this character.

When they teased her with the first footage from Resident Evil 8, the Internet exploded.

It turns out, all it takes to make the Internet go crazy is a giant vampire lady.

Let’s be honest:

We all get it.

The stature combined with the flowing dress, the hat, the gloves, and the long cigarette. Lady Dimitrescu is the new standard for vampire icon.

13. Alucard (Castlevania)

Castlevania has been captivating gamers and fans alike for decades at this point.

It’s not hard to see why: everyone loves the vampire aesthetics.

Fighting your way through dangerous, vampire-infested castles is an exciting thought for many people.

However, if the vampire in that castle is Alucard, then castle spelunking is an exciting activity for literally everyone ever.

Look at skin creator Kayception’s Alucard for Minecraft.

It’s video game perfection.

14. Nosferatu

Nosferatu Vampire Skin For Minecraft

While the original depictions of Dracula are often handsome and suave, the vampire’s nature is brutal, insatiable, and monstrous.

No depiction of a vampire has locked that down quite like Count Orlok, the infamous Nosferatu.

While I feel bad saying that Nosferatu looks hideous, well, he looks hideous.

The bright side is that creator Nighthearted’s Nosferatu design is hideous in all the best ways.

This is S-tier skin-making right here from the detailing on the rounded head to the hunched texture on the outfit.

15. Serana (Skyrim)

Serana Vampire (Skyrim) Minecraft Skin

Check Out This Skin

I can’t believe I’ve made it this deep into a vampire skin list before getting to the most notorious vampire in Skyrim circles: Serana.

When the Dawnguard DLC was dropped, everyone was obsessed with the new follower.

And it’s not hard to see why.

Serana’s red armored look feels fresh and timeless despite being particularly vampire-y.

This is character design at its best.

Skyrim has already made jumps to almost every gaming platform imaginable.

So why not take some Skyrim, and some vampires, and bring them into Minecraft with you?
