I think it’s about that time again.

Time to make tanks and immobile carries collectively curse their fragile existence at the foot of burn items.

That’s right, we’re talking about Rumble, baby!

To be more precise, we’re going to have a look at his cosmetics and see how to best dress up while giving top laners mild depression.

Released: April 26th, 2011
Price: 520 RP

This is one of those skins that definitely had a solid idea, but just fumbled when it came to execution.

Rumble being a pirate is insanely cool. But it just doesn’t come off as strongly as it could have.

Sure, your mech is literally a ship, you have the iconic crossed scull pirate flag and even an eyepatch.

But it just doesn’t feel piratey enough.

For one, I don’t really associate pirates with flamethrowers and missiles.

Secondly, there are not nearly enough sea shanty sound effects or r-centered voice lines.

Thirdly, I did not even notice that his ult now has cannon balls until I started writing this ranking.

See what I mean? Even the stuff that’s there is easy to miss!

Riot, please update this skin and make it the banger it always deserved to be.

4. Badlands Baron Rumble

Released: April 11th, 2018
Price: 1350 RP

Badlands Baron Rumble really turns up the badassery to eleven.

Your ship is just completely pimped out, looking like a Decepticon gone rouge. And even Rumble himself is more than ready to throw down.

He gets that sweet punk engineer aesthetic – and it honestly suits him way better than I would have originally expected.

Other selling points for this skin could be that you literally chug gasoline and then spit fire as part of your recall animation, or that your ult is now may more difficult to spot in a teamfight.

All of that being said, there is one major flaw that puts me off with this skin: the fact that you still have the original voice-over.

I don’t mind Rumble’s original VO. But when paired with this skin it comes off as janky and out of place.

So it’s a decent skin – but definitely not my top pick.

3. Rumble in the Jungle

Released: April 26th, 2011
Price: 975 RP

Rumble in the Jungle has the weirdest cult following I’ve ever seen.

The character model is definitely on the funnier side of things, with your mech being made out of coconuts and bamboo shoots, and Rumble himself rocking a Hawaiian shirt and a pink mohawk.

How can you possibly be tilted when you’re playing as someone this chilled out?

Plus, we have to acknowledge the fact that this skin has one of the best names in the entire game.

And of course, the pièce de resistance of the entire skin: the pineapple ult.

Overall, Rumble in the Jungle is a bit goofy and really takes you back to the days when skins were random as all hell – but with that said, you can definitely get something a bit more flashy if you throw more money at Riot.

2. Space Groove Rumble

Released: April 1st, 2021
Price: 1350 RP

Okay, first let’s go over what this skin doesn’t do well: intimidation.

Like seriously, I have never been less afraid of a champion than when looking at this skin.

Your auto-attacks sound like unicorn kisses, your Q sounds like you are coating the enemy in some delicious pudding, and your E feels as dangerous as a loving boop on the nose.

However, what this skin does do well is grooving to the maximum.

Your ult has you drop down some techno squid dudes who do not plan on stopping their jam session just because the enemy is stupid enough to stand on top of them.

If that wasn’t enough, the skin also throws in a groovy new backing animation that has you own the dance floor.

Other features of note are that you have:

  • A chipmunk sounding voice filter
  • An absolutely adorable & highly detailed character model
  • And a chroma collection that’s really hard to beat

Overall, Space Groove Rumble is a must-buy for you kawaii enjoyers. But it’s a hesitant pass if you want to preserve some of Rumble’s original badass energy.

1. Super Galaxy Rumble

Released: April 2nd, 2014
Price: 1820 RP

Legendary skins are usually beloved, as they’re some of the highest-end cosmetics around

But even by those standards, this skin just redefined what it meant to play Rumble.

Is the skin kind of lacking compared to modern legendary skins? Yes.

The backing animation is rather mediocre, and the fact that the new dance emote doesn’t have actual music just makes me angry.

But that doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things.

First off, the new voice over for this skin is just absolutely iconic. It really gives Rumble some of the flare and memorability he was lacking.

Plus, this skin knows how to make you feel powerful. It is arguably the only Rumble skin that actually makes your auto-attack seem dangerous.

And once you get used to the ult looking like the door to hell, it’s really difficult to go back to the usual rocket design.

Even after all these years, Super Galaxy Rumble is more Rumble than the base skin ever could hope to be.
