Like its predecessors and forebears, Assassin’s Creed Origins uses an experience system, adding a healthy amount of RPG elements to the classic stealth-action we all know and love.
Leveling up awards skill points to fill out Bayek’s talent tree, as well as increasing his overall stats.
It’s extremely rewarding!
But in a large place such as Egypt, what are the best ways to earn the exalted experience? We’ve got a few suggestions here to get you going.
3. Resetting Quest Objectives
There’s a fine line between ‘grinding’ and ‘exploiting’ when it comes to experience points in video games, and this method certainly walks it.
In the quest log menu, you have the option to reset the world back to the last quest objective.
This is usually meant in cases where an NPC or item doesn’t spawn, or gets stuck in the world.
But it can also be used to your advantage, if you know how to do it.
The basic idea is to find an animal den or enemy camp that you can easily clear out. Look for a lion’s nest – something that can be cleaned up inside a few minutes.
Once you’ve mopped up and gotten both the experience from the enemies and the objective, simply head to the menu and reset the quest objective.
All the enemies will respawn, giving you as many helpings of experience as you want.
It’s not the most exciting way to level, and ultimately will be super slow as you get up there…
But it’s a terrific way to either get a head start or to top off the experience bar when it’s frustratingly close to the top.
2. Following the Main Story
Experience points flow like water down the main story’s river.
Simply following the plot quests will not only expose you to every region, but offer you tens of thousands of experience as incentive.
This keeps you evenly leveled as well.
It’s the most engaging way to level, as you experience the main story, but can also be used to get a few levels here and there if you’re farming in other ways.
The main story, all experience aside, also unlocks lots of new abilities, mounts, and goodies that will become standard kit in Bayek’s journey – such as his hidden blade.
Assassin’s Creed Origins treats experience as just that:
And gaining it is sometimes just as easy as living it.
There’s no better way to gain experience in this game than to just go get it.
Let the world open up around you!
Hitting every question mark, synchronization point, side quest, and location discovery in Egypt will reward you with experience and levels beyond imagination.
Tell the main story to hold on for a little while and strike out on your own – you’ll be glad you did.
Clearing enemy camps, fighting wildlife, discovering treasures, and helping the populous as the true Medjay you are the best way to get experience.
There’s no repetition in this grind, just a whole adventure to be had.
You’ll be surprised how rewarding in both experience and fun clearing every location in a region can be!
Not only will you get lots of experience, but you’ll get the good stuff too, like weapons, money, and gear.
Assassin’s Creed Origins strikes a fantastic balance between gameplay and experience, in that actual RPG-like grinding has been replaced largely with just exploring the world.
And that’s fantastic.
