Anyone who remembers the viral sensation when it was coming out should agree: Five Nights at Freddy’s dominated the Internet for a few years.

Horror games were on the rise with YouTube Let’s Play series, and everyone either wanted to watch someone get their pants scared off, or get scared themselves.

Everything about the FNAF series did exactly that.

It didn’t matter if you were playing or watching, every second of the game was terrifying in new and unsettling ways.

I don’t want to delve into spoiler territory because half of the fun and scares around the FNAF games is the intense nail-biting lore written by creator Scott Cawthon.

So I’ll let you dive into the depths of the FNAF lore, and for now we can discover some of the best FNAF Minecraft skins out there.

1. Freddy Fazbear

Of course, Freddy Fazbear has to be the first skin on a Five Nights at Freddy’s list.

I mean, it’s in the name.

Beyond that, this skin (along with the majority of those on this list) are made by the Planet Minecraft creator Legoskeleton.

I’ll be hyping them up for this entire list. But I have to start somewhere by saying, “I can’t believe how good these skins look.”

Genuinely, the FNAF visual styles don’t seem like they’d mold themselves too well into Minecraft. But this Freddy Fazbear skin is as close to perfect as I can imagine.

2. Chica

Chica has always been a fan favorite since the first game.

Maybe it’s because Markiplier’s series saw him freaking out over Chica all the time.

Maybe it’s because creator Anxiety Opossum’s skin looks so darn creepy and good.

I don’t know for sure, but my bet is on the latter.

Seriously I love the sunken effect the eyes have on this skin.

Because these characters are animatronics and costumes, the eyes give so much creepy depth to the skin.

3. Night Guard

Though mostly unseen in the games, the player character of FNAF is indeed a night guard.

They’re hired for nighttime security at Fazbear locations.

The act of sitting still at a monitor and looking at security footage has never been more terrifying.

It’s a good thing that you can download this skin and roam freely through the plains and caves of Minecraft.

Let’s just hope you don’t run into any animatronics while you’re adventuring.

4. Funtime Freddy

I don’t exactly know how taking the original Freddy skin and making it white and purple could make it scarier.

But it definitely did.

The already-creepy bear gets contrasted with these bright happy colors, and the result is something dissonant and spookier than ever.

5. Springtrap

Anyone who has played FNAF 3 understands the terror caused by Springtrap.

I have such vivid memories of my heart pounding as I frantically try to seal vents and listen for the audio cue before it pops up.

Now I can relive those fun memories in the once safe and secure world of Minecraft!

But actually, the decaying and decrepit form of Springtrap is perfectly depicted by Legoskeleton. It’s a great skin for shift-clicking to jump scare your friends.

6. Foxy the Pirate

Another one of the crew here, and possibly the most elusive of the original Freddy Fazbear crew – Foxy the Pirate was always the scariest to me.

I don’t know if it’s because I couldn’t find him in the original game, or if the lankier body contrasted with the other rounder animatronics.

Either way, Foxy’s design has always been captivating – and this skin backs that up.

7. Golden Freddy

Golden Freddy was always a treat to run into in the games.

The rare sighting was practically guaranteed to scare you into the afterlife.

Fortunately, Minecraft (on most modes) has an infinite amount of lives. So that won’t be a problem.

The only problem that may arise is that you might start scaring others with this nightmarish, black-eyed version of Freddy.

8. The Puppet

This one gives me the shivers.

If you’re anything like me, you are not a fan of dolls.

Puppets, marionettes, dolls of any kind really give me the heebie-jeebies without a doubt.

I’m not saying that FNAF’s Puppet was the root cause of that – but it certainly didn’t help.

I don’t know how anyone can look into the vacant eyes on that pale mask and not feel terror shoot into their heart.

In the same vein, I don’t know how anyone can resist the chance to play as the Puppet.

I’m not sure how that works… but the skin looks too creepy to question it.

9. Ennard

FNAF’s Sister Location combined lots of the elements of the other games and turned them on their heads.

This skin, which was miraculously put together from the teasers for Sister Location by creator _Forerunner_, is a perfect representation of why the FNAF games work so well.

One look at the skin here and I don’t even want to begin to think about how this thing will jump scare me.

It’s the perfect fun fright.

10. Purple Man

The enigmatic Purple Man was debated about for quite some years during the height of the FNAF craze.

It’s not hard to see why when you look at this design – another one of Legoskeleton’s amazing skins.

The deformed visage of the Purple Man is the stuff of nightmares. And it would make the perfect addition to any skin collection.

11. Dismantled Chica

I think that part of the success of FNAF stems from how original all of the character designs were, and moreso, how they had such interesting alt skins.

Case in point: this Dismantled Chica by Legoskeleton looks vastly different from the original.

By adding the decay and tearing apart the already creepy suit, this version of Chica is significantly less cute than its put-together form.

12. Bonnie

Oh, Bonnie, the guitar-playing bunny robot.

Bonnie’s look is closest to that of the titular Freddy. So I think Bonnie often gets overlooked by fans, despite the fact that Bonnie was an ever-present threat in the games.

Just peering into the sunken purple eyes of this skin has me fearful again that I won’t check a monitor quick enough.

But that’s alright.

For Minecraft skins, all I need to do is look cool.

And with this skin, I’ve got that covered.

13. Ballora

Another absolute “nope” from me, Sister Location’s Ballora had to make this list.

The character’s marionette-ish design is more than enough to make me doubt I’ll ever go through the ordeal of braving Sister Location.

But this skin by _Forerunner_ looks so sleek and subtly textured that maybe I’ll give the game a go.

Maybe. Like tomorrow. Definitely not now.

14. The Mangle

The Mangle Fnaf Minecraft Skin

The Mangle has to be among my favorite FNAF characters.

While so many of the designs are slight twists on kid’s entertainment animatronics, the Mangle is a straight-up deformity built from the dregs of a scrapped Foxy.

Beyond the lore being engaging and cool, this skin stands out among the other FNAF ones.

While the other skins have such easily identifiable figures, the Mangle is hard to pin down – but is recognizable as a Five Nights at Freddy’s monster.

If you want to flex your FNAF knowledge, or just like the cool gangly design, Mangle is probably for you.

15. The Nightmare

The Nightmare Fnaf Minecraft Skin

The Nightmare is exactly what it sounds like.

Five Nights at Freddy’s develops its signature horror stylings by playing on comfort characters, children’s animatronics, and twisting them enough to make them uncanny and unsettling.

The Nightmare takes all the tease of the game and throws it right out the window.

Gone are the warm colors and the soft exterior of Freddy Fazbear.

With the Nightmare, you get rows of jagged teeth, sharpened claws, and a pitch-black body.

It’s something that I would never, ever want to see in an actual Nightmare I have.

But it’s totally something I would want to see in a Minecraft game.
