The Harvest Moon games are a treasure of memories and countryside decision making.
One of the biggest decisions in each game is picking who you want to marry. Well for this list I’ve covered the best wife options across the most popular harvest Moon titles in the franchise.
I know a lot comes down to opinions here but I’ll share why I feel they’re a great fit in addition to listing the traits that may let them down as eligible candidates. Get ready to walk the aisle because your blushing bride is waiting for her blue feather!
10. Harvest Goddess
The Harvest Goddess appears across many of the Harvest Moon titles in some shape or form, but she is considered a special marriage candidate.
Because of this, taking Harvest Moon: Animal Parade as an example, she is often referred to as one of the harder marriage setups across the series.
To marry her you need to first complete the entire Animal parade storyline, and she will not marry until the Goddess Tree is revived bringing her into her true form.
There’s also a way to marry her in Friends of Mineral Town but it’s yet another gruelling puzzle of side quests.
But imagine marrying an actual goddess. Crazy right?
Kathy from Harvest Moon: Animal Parade deserves a spot in here. She’s referred to as one of the game’s most eligible bachelorettes and I think I agree.
Kathy works as a waitress at the towns Brass Bar and has befriended most of the patrons in the game. So you know she’s a great socializer and would make an excellent housewife.
To get Kathy to love you and get her ready for marriage(that feels weird to write) you’ll first need to put in some graft to build up her hearts. Basically just give her gifts and go through all her major cutscenes.
It has to be said, though, this can take some time to achieve so you’ll need to be patient if you want her hand in marriage.
The Mineral town librarian Mary is a quiet yet lovable lady.
She’s an only child meaning her father might be a little choosy when it comes to her getting married. She’s a shy girl but she has a genuine admiration for the work that her father carries out in the town.
Mary feels sad easily because hardly anyone visits the library. However, she is working on her novel and has an eligible husband who visits the library regularly.
She could be a good choice for an easy marriage setup and she would likely be pretty loyal.
Note: Mary actually appeared in the HM 64 game as well, however there she was the Mayor’s daughter. In that game she also worked at the library.
Stealing our number seven spot is Popuri who made her debut appearance in harvest Moon: Back to Nature.
She’s not had the best upbringing with her father leaving on a voyage and never returning home, and her mother becoming ill. But that doesn’t stop this pinked haired girl attending to her chicken farm duties.
Popuri has a thing for anything sweet, so if you can give her any candy she’ll really love it. Or some Pink Cat Flowers are another way into her heart if you start picking them in the springtime.
She has a crush on Kai so she will end up marrying him if you don’t. But she’s an open girl who wears her heart on her sleeve.
Making her appearance first in Harvest Moon 64 and then in Harvest Moon: Back to Nature, Elli is a girl who knows her sweets as she owns a bakery in HM64.
But in Back to Nature she works as a nurse at the local hospital. Quite a jump.
Unless you visit on a Wednesday, you’ll almost always find Ellie hiding out in the town clinic, helping the doctor using her midwifery skills.
It might be down to the fact that she loves working with babies but Ellie is one of the easiest wives to win affection for and marry.
Many would probably consider Karen to be the hottest chick that appears in the Harvest Moon series. And in some cases that may be one of her only real benefits in choosing her as a wife.
Although she helps run the family supermarket, Karen has a habit of painting the town red rather than helping with the family workload.
She already has a very close friend on her radar so that could make for an easy marriage. But she is a sweet girl who does care for you if you decide to marry.
Note she loves to cook, but unfortunately, she’s pretty bad at it so you’ll have to watch her in the kitchen closely.
Here’s one more beautiful wife based in Mineral Town, the child of Doug who runs the local inn.
As a wife Ann is an excellent choice as she boasts heaps of optimism and enthusiasm, which can be hugely attractive in-game and in real life.
Not only that, but she also has some excellent cooking skills and she uses these skills to work with her father by participating in all the main cooking festivals.
A bit of a tomboy but still a lovable gal if you do decide to wife her up.
Unlike some of our other choices in this list, Nami from A Wonderful Life certainly has a lot of street smarts about her.
Because of this you might consider her to be the coolest girl of the bunch.
She’s an excellent choice to marry as she’s not easily impressed and it will take some effort to get her to care about you. But once she does she’ll be loyal through and through.
Not to mention that she’s not a hard worker herself and would be happy with farm life.
Nami will bear a son that boasts similar traits to what she has: he’ll be really smart, creative, and because of this he’ll like to study rather than working on a farm.
The downside to Nami is that she does carry a tom-boy look about her, and although she has youth on her side her beauty isn’t her most distinguishing feature. Although I suppose it is true that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Taking the place as our runner-up is Muffy from A Wonderful Life.
Muffy could be classed as the most good-looking woman in the town.
Her life-long ambition is to settle down with a partner and bear children, and because of this it means she’s serious about getting into a relationship. This also means it’s a bit easier to get her interested in a real commitment.
The only downside to marrying Muffy could be that she’s of an older generation, and because of this, someone like Nami may be a better option if you prefer the “hip” variety of farmlife.
Coming in at #1 as the best wife in the Harvest Moon series has to be Celia.
She’s a farm girl that you’ll find in Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life. She grew up on a farm so she already knows what it’s like, and she’s real hard working to boot.
She lived on Vesta’s Farm and from this upbringing you can guarantee that any son you have with Celia’s son is also gonna be hard-working.
This makes her an excellent choice to use in-game if you want a well-oiled machine of a farm.
Her main downside is the fact that she has a childish nature, and because of this, she can be a bit naïve. Although really, aren’t we all naïve when we’re livin’ that farm life out in the countryside?
